Re-inventing a Better World

In the fall of 2007, Doubletree Hotels helped kids unleash their inner inventor with the Re-Invent a Better World program. With the aim of demonstrating their vision for an eco-friendly future, students across North America showcased their handmade eco-inventions constructed solely from collected recyclable materials. A select group of kids and their teachers received an all-expense paid trip to Seattle to display their eco-inventions and become the first guests at the premiere of the Exploring Trees Inside and Out (this should click through to the Traveling Tree Museum page) Environmental Education Exhibit.

Arbor Day Foundation

Since 2004, Doubletree has proudly teamed up with the Arbor Day Foundation on a variety of Teaching Kids to CARE environmental education projects. From tree planting projects at schools to the celebration of a Forest Green Ribbon Day and even a fun celebration of the three Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle thousands of students in more than 150 communities have developed unique art projects and participated in a variety of city and neighborhood beautification projects. Most importantly, students have learned that trees truly play an important role in our everyday lives.

World Wildlife Fund Fund

Thousands of kids across the U.S. and Canada learned about the threats and challenges facing the world's animal population, and signed a pledge to do their part to protect endangered species. They then symbolically adopted more than 2,500 endangered animals through World Wildlife Fund's Animal Adoption Center with funding provided by Doubletree.

Kids Voting Usa

With help from Kids Voting USA®, Doubletree taught 10,000 grade school students about the privilege and power of voting. Using an electronic voting system, students voted for a group of people in their community who they felt could use the caring gesture of a Doubletree chocolate chip cookie. The military were declared the official winning community group with 37% of the popular vote. More than 250,000 Doubletree cookies were distributed to Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard units throughout the U.S.
